Today Mass Production is extremely efficient and is used to make everything from cars to food. The most common use is the auto industry. Ford's system was very efficient, and without it companies and industries would never have gotten as large as they are. Many processes have been automated by the use of robots such as Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) milling machines and welders. These inventions have improved production speeds, but one thing remains constant, the line. The whole concept of the line has not, and probably never will change. The assembly line also leaves more possibilities for modifications and improvements. Workers often notice things about products that could be improved, and companies can save thousands if these improvements are made. The reason that pop cans are angled at the bottom and top is because a worker in a can factory once noticed how bulky the edges were. He mentioned it to an engineer and the can design was change saving the factory money and helping the environment by using less aluminum. This is just one of many ways that the assembly line is a revolution that will lead to many more inventions.
